Senior Quantity Surveyor Civil Engineering
Truro £70k - £74k + £9,000 Car Allowance + Annual Bonus The Opportunity
We re recruiting a
Senior Quantity Surveyor for an established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Cornwall and the South West.
Based predominantly in
Truro and across Cornwall, you ll take commercial responsibility for
circa £50m of civil engineering projects, with travel to the Exeter office required
just one day per week.
Projects include:
- Reservoirs
- Flood alleviation schemes
- Bridges and structures
- Highways
- Major infrastructure works
The Role
Working alongside the commercial, design and project delivery teams, you ll manage:
- Commercial performance across major civils projects
- Applications, valuations and cost reporting
- Subcontract procurement and accounts
- Variations and compensation events
- Forecasting, cost and value management
- Contractual and commercial risk
- Client and supply chain negotiations
- Monthly financial reporting
- Support and mentoring of junior commercial staff
About You
We re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong contracting background across
civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, utilities or heavy civils.
You ll ideally have:
- Strong civil engineering Quantity Surveying experience
- Good working knowledge of NEC
- Subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
- Strong forecasting and cost reporting skills
- Relevant QS, Commercial Management or construction qualification
- Strong communication and negotiation skills

- £70k - £74k salary
- £9,000 car allowance
