At Veolia, we're committed to helping the world take better care of its resources and creating a more sustainable future for everyone. As part of our ambition for Ecological Transformation, we're looking for an inspiring and collaborative people manager to lead our Risk & Assurance team across the Treatment business.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference: developing a high-performing team, strengthening our risk culture and supporting colleagues across Landfill, Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs), Agricultural Services and Construction.

What you'll be doing:

As Risk & Assurance Manager, you'll provide strategic direction across the Treatment business while leading, coaching and developing the Risk & Assurance team. You'll work closely with operational and senior stakeholders, ensuring the team provides trusted, practical advice and helps drive a proactive, active risk culture throughout the business.

  • Lead, support and develop the Risk & Assurance team, building capability, confidence and consistency across the function.
  • Set and communicate a clear strategic vision for Risk & Assurance across the Landfill, ERF, Agricultural Services and Construction sectors.
  • Coach team members to deliver high-quality support to operational sites and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the effective planning, delivery and continuous improvement of planned maintenance outages and construction projects.
  • Contribute to the wider Risk & Assurance improvement programme, ensuring initiatives are implemented effectively across operational sites.
  • Analyse trends and identify key risk areas across the Treatment business, with a particular focus on technical and construction activities.
  • Promote consistency, share learning and embed sustainable improvements across the organisation.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels, helping sites and teams manage risk effectively and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Champion Veolia's commitment to an active risk culture and continuous improvement.

If you're passionate about developing people, improving performance and helping create a stronger risk culture, we'd love to hear from you.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for a supportive and credible leader who can bring people with them, develop capability and turn insight into action. You'll ideally have:

  • Experience of leading, coaching or developing a team in a safety, risk or assurance advisory role, preferably within waste management, construction or maintenance.
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Auditing experience, with the ability to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • The confidence and credibility to influence key stakeholders across operational sites.
  • A proactive approach to improvement and experience supporting the implementation of change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on collaboration and customer service.
  • The ability to work strategically while remaining connected to the practical needs of frontline teams.
