Construction Subcontract Manager
Location: Talacre, North Wales

ARM is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Subcontract Manager to join a major energy and infrastructure project in North Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Subcontract Manager with a strong background in Oil & Gas, Energy, industrial facilities or complex construction projects.
The Role
You will be responsible for the effective commercial and contractual management of subcontract packages, covering Mechanical Works, Buildings and E&I Works through the engineering, construction and development phases of a major energy project.
You will lead a team of Subcontract Engineers and Administrators, ensuring subcontractors deliver in accordance with contractual, commercial and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Subcontract Engineers / Administrators team.
- Ensure subcontract administration procedures are implemented and followed.
- Manage contractual letters, notices and correspondence with subcontractors.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and commercial compliance.
- Review and validate subcontractor progress payments.
- Support the project team in identifying and managing variations, claims, delays and cost impacts.
- Assess Site Technical Queries, Site Instructions and Deviation Requests, determining their commercial impact.
- Lead negotiations with subcontractors regarding additional works and pricing.
- Manage extra works, new unit prices, claims, back charges and liquidated damages.
- Support change management and commercial forecasting.
- Maintain regular subcontract forecast analysis.
- Ensure the issue of Completion Certificates.
- Manage the commercial close-out of subcontract agreements.
- Capture and share lessons learned and construction experience to improve future project delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial professional.
- Previous experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, industrial facilities or complex construction projects.
- Experience managing subcontracts and commercial packages.
- Strong knowledge of variations, claims, progress payments, forecasting and commercial close-out.
- Experience with offshore facilities would be highly advantageous.
- Exposure to contract management activities is desirable.
- Experience across Mechanical, Building and/or E&I works would be beneficial.
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience leading or managing a commercial/subcontract team would be advantageous.
