Job Description

Project Manager (client side) - civil engineering projects across the North-East (hybrid, 2 days p/w site/office based), Projects available range from £5m - £50m+ in value, up to 5 years.

As Construction Client-Side Project Manager, you will:

  • Take ownership of project planning, procurement activities, consultant coordination, and project delivery strategies
  • Lead project meetings, stakeholder workshops, and site coordination activities
  • Monitor programme performance, project milestones, and key delivery objectives
  • Track costs, risks, opportunities, and commercial considerations throughout project lifecycles
  • Identify project challenges early and implement solutions to minimise risk and maintain programme certainty
  • Manage contract administration processes and project governance requirements
  • Produce client reports, progress updates, and project documentation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders
  • Support the successful delivery of projects across multiple sectors and client groups
  • Contribute to our reputation for exceptional client service

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines strong technical project management skills with excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management abilities.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Consultancy-based Project Management experience within the civil engineering / construction industry
  • Strong understanding of the complete project lifecycle, from feasibility and procurement through to delivery and handover
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Sound understanding of contracts, procurement processes, project controls, and construction delivery
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to project challenges
  • Experience producing high-quality reports, presentations, and project documentation
  • Strong digital and IT skills

Desirable

  • Degree qualified in Construction Management, Project Management, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
  • Chartered status, or actively working towards professional accreditation
  • Experience working within both public and private sector environments
  • Familiarity with project management best-practice methodologies and frameworks
