Boomi Architect - 6 months + - £500-600pd Outside IR35 DOE - Remote UK

We are currently supporting a large public-sector organisation looking for an experienced Technical/Specialist Architect to support the implementation and adoption of a strategic Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) capability.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring strong experience across iPaaS, API management, event-driven integration and data sharing, alongside excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture engagement and onboarding of projects onto a strategic integration platform.
• Produce solution and integration designs aligned to API, event-driven, managed file transfer and hybrid integration patterns.
• Develop reusable integration patterns, reference architectures, templates and implementation guidance.
• Define and support API management standards covering life cycle, security, versioning, governance and observability.
• Establish standards and reusable approaches for event streaming, including event taxonomy, topic management and governance.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and architectural direction to engineering teams and delivery partners.
• Conduct design reviews and provide constructive challenge to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles.
• Define requirements for monitoring, logging, alerting, resilience, disaster recovery and DevSecOps.
• Support architecture assurance, design authority and technical governance processes.
• Identify platform capability gaps and contribute to the technology roadmap and future evolution of the integration platform.
• Assess emerging technologies and support proofs of concept and technical evaluations.
• Analyse data-sharing requirements and develop solution options covering data flows, integration patterns, security and governance.
• Support delivery teams from technical discovery through to implementation and production readiness.

Experience Required

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• Proven iPaaS implementation experience - this is essential.
• Strong experience in solution/technical architecture within complex enterprise environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of API management and integration patterns.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and event streaming.
• Understanding of managed file transfer and hybrid integration.
• Experience developing architecture standards, reusable patterns and technical documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience providing technical leadership to internal engineering teams and external suppliers.
• Knowledge of security, governance, observability, resilience and operational readiness within integration environments.
• Experience working within structured architecture assurance and design governance processes.

Desirable

• Experience within public sector or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale integration platforms.
• Experience with DevSecOps and cloud-based integration environments.
• Experience supporting strategic platform adoption and technology roadmaps.
• Experience with data-sharing architecture and discovery-to-delivery transition.

This temporary contract is outside IR35 and will be delivered on a statement-of-work basis. The supplier will determine the method, resources, and approach to deliver the agreed outcomes
