Design Manager

Design Manager - Berkshire
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established national contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering a variety of high-quality projects. They are looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to lead and coordinate the design process across major schemes, playing a key role in delivering successful projects from pre-construction through to completion. You'll work across a varied portfolio of schemes including DFE -education, MOD, residential, commercial and healthcare projects taking ownership of the design management process while collaborating closely with project teams, consultants and subcontractors.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to lead the coordination and management of the design process, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing design information throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Reviewing drawings and technical information for quality, buildability and compliance.
• Chairing design meetings and proactively resolving technical and design-related issues.
• Managing design programmes to ensure information is delivered in line with project requirements.
• Overseeing design trackers, approvals and project documentation.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager working for a main contractor.
• A construction-related qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• A strong understanding of construction processes, technical design, building regulations and project delivery.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple design packages while driving programmes and resolving technical challenges.
