The role:

Due to continuous project awards across the South East the need has arisen to recruit for a Senior Site Manager to join a key project in the the retail & leisure sectors.

Key responsibilities:

• Reporting to the site based Project Manager and to be responsible for day-to-day operational management of design & build projects up to £15m in value.
• Leadership and management of the site team which will include two Assistant Site Managers and a Logistics Manager. Driving performance, accountability and programme compliance.
• Short-term planning, programme implementation and site phasing to ensure works are delivered in line with project milestones and client expectations.
• Coordination and management of all specialist subcontractors, ensuring activities are properly sequenced, resourced and integrated to achieve a smooth project delivery.
• Championing a positive safety culture through the enforcement of PPE requirements, safe systems of work and behavioural safety standards across the site.
• Ensuring full compliance with all company procedures, management systems, quality processes, documentation and reporting requirements.
• Management and control of inspections, temporary works, permits, RAMS, site records and statutory compliance activities.
• Monitoring and maintaining quality standards across all elements of the works, including civils, structural alterations, pool construction, external works and high-specification internal finishes.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, professional and presentable site environment, ensuring excellent housekeeping standards at all times.
• Proactive identification and resolution of site issues, risks and constraints, working closely with the Project Manager, design team and supply chain to maintain programme certainty.
• Leading daily briefings, coordination meetings and workforce communications to ensure safe, productive and well-organised operations.
• Supporting SHEQ objectives through regular inspections, audits, reporting and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

About You:

• A stable CV is required that demonstrates tenure within a main contractor
• Relevant H&S qualifications (SMSTS or IOSH, A relevant CSCS card and First Aid training)
• Working knowledge of MS Project would be an advantage.
• A commercial and contractual awareness balanced by excellent management skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Desire to understand and promote the company purpose, vision, values and culture

• Flexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders
