Associate Building Surveyor

Conrad Consulting is delighted to be working with an independent firm of property professionals to recruit an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor at Senior or Associate level.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professionally biased Building Surveyor looking for greater flexibility, autonomy and long-term career progression, including the potential to become a Partner.

Working predominantly from home, you will provide a broad range of professional Building Surveying services to commercial clients across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and the surrounding areas. Your survey patch will be tailored around your home location.

Your workload will include:

• Commercial building surveys
• Schedules of condition
• Dilapidations
• Planned preventative maintenance surveys
• Acquisition surveys and technical due diligence
• Contract administration
• Defect diagnosis and technical advice
• Preparation of detailed technical reports
• Client liaison and advisory work

You will join an experienced, multi-disciplinary team of Building Surveyors and Structural Engineers, providing the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the business.

There is also scope to become involved in business development, general practice surveying, expert witness, residential and structural engineering work, depending on your interests and experience.

We are specifically looking for a professionally biased Chartered Building Surveyor with strong commercial experience and the ability to work independently to a high standard.

You will ideally have:

• MRICS or MCIOB qualification
• A strong professional Building Surveying background
• Experience in commercial property
• Proven experience with dilapidations, schedules of condition, acquisition surveys and technical due diligence
• Strong report writing and technical assessment skills
• Excellent client-facing and communication abilities
• A high level of attention to detail
• A full UK driving licence

Candidates whose experience is predominantly project-focused will not be suitable for this position.

• £60,000 £75,000+, depending on experience
