Health & Safety Manager

Location: Hatfield, England, United Kingdom
We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to join a dynamic civil engineering company delivering groundworks, concrete, and RC frame projects across the UK and Europe. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies across civil engineering and construction activities. The key responsibilities include:
- Conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and monitoring compliance with legislation
- Delivering safety inductions, training sessions, and promoting best safety practices
- Investigating incidents and near misses, preparing reports and corrective action plans
- Collaborating with project teams, site supervisors, and clients to foster a strong safety culture
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in civil engineering or construction environments, with knowledge of groundworks, concrete works, or data centres
- Strong understanding of UK and EU health and safety legislation, risk management, and incident investigation
- Recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
