Job Description

Senior M&E Project Manager

West Yorkshire / Nationwide Travel
Up to 65,000 + 5,500 Car Allowance + Benefits

Parkinson Gray Associates is recruiting for an experienced Senior M&E Project Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a substantial programme of building services projects for a major national client.

This is a senior operational role covering a portfolio of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, decarbonisation and asset replacement schemes. You will take responsibility for project delivery while also providing leadership and support to Project Managers and wider delivery teams.

The position is broader than a conventional project management role. Alongside delivery, you will be expected to develop strong client relationships, support account growth, maintain commercial performance and ensure projects are delivered safely, predictably and to the required standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for a portfolio of M&E projects.
  • Manage projects from early engagement and survey through design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Lead and support Project Managers and delivery teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders.
  • Lead programme and project review meetings.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for additional work.
  • Work with estimating, design, procurement and commercial teams during pre-construction.
  • Review scope, programme, design responsibilities and procurement requirements before mobilisation.
  • Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor programme, costs, labour, materials, variations, risks and technical submissions.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and CVRs.
  • Manage change control, valuations and final accounts.
  • Ensure commissioning, O&M documentation and handover requirements are properly planned.
  • Maintain strong standards of health & safety, quality and compliance.
  • Provide appropriate site presence where required.

The Successful Candidate

  • Proven senior project management experience within M&E, HVAC, building services or a related construction environment.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong client-facing and account-management capability.
  • Strong commercial experience across budgets, CVRs, forecasting, procurement, variations and final accounts.
  • Demonstrable experience leading Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors.
  • Good understanding of design coordination, commissioning and technical M&E interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of CDM and construction health & safety.
  • Ability to produce and manage programmes, reports and commercial information.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.

Experience of fast-track, live commercial or multi-site environments would be particularly relevant. The role profile also highlights experience in HVAC asset replacement, controls/BEMS, decarbonisation and similar technical programmes.

SMSTS and an appropriate CSCS card are required, with First Aid and Asbestos Awareness also expected or obtainable within an agreed period.
