Groundworker

Groundworker Spider is advertising on behalf of Garden Annexes by GX Modular, who are looking for an experienced Groundworker - Domestic Installations to join their growing team due to company-wide growth. This is a full-time, permanent position based from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, with nationwide travel to domestic customer properties and an immediate start available.

About the role:

As a Groundworker, you will work as part of a two-person groundworks team, supporting the Working Foreman with the installation of concrete bases and small service trenches for garden annexes at domestic properties across the UK.

This is a hands-on role involving excavation, concrete base preparation and general groundwork activities. The work is focused on domestic installations rather than heavy civils, making it ideal for an experienced Groundworker who enjoys varied projects and takes pride in delivering quality work. You will need to be comfortable travelling and working away from home when required, with paid travel and accommodation arranged. This is steady, long-term employment directly with the company not agency or short-term contract work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a 2-person groundworks crew, supporting the Working Foreman
• Assist with the preparation and installation of concrete bases for garden annexes
• Carry out excavation and small service trenching
• Assist with all aspects of groundwork activities on domestic installation projects
• Maintain a safe, tidy and professional working environment on customer properties
• Travel nationwide from the Bury St Edmunds/Suffolk base and work away when required

About you:

As a Groundworker, you will have proven groundworks experience, ideally with around 3 years experience in a similar role. Experience of concrete bases, excavation and smaller domestic groundwork projects would be advantageous.

You will be reliable, hardworking and comfortable working as part of a small team. A full UK driving licence is essential, as is the willingness to travel nationwide and work away from home for approximately % of the role, Monday to Friday only, returning home at weekend.
