Job Description

MEP Quality Manager / Mechanical Quality Manager

The best Quality Managers don't just identify problems. They create a culture where problems are prevented in the first place.

If you're an experienced mechanical building services professional who has progressed into quality management, this is an opportunity to put your expertise at the heart of some genuinely challenging projects.

About Us

You'll join a well-established mechanical services contractor specialising in commercial, hospitality and residential projects, with expertise across mechanical installations including heating, plumbing, air conditioning, ventilation and BMS. The business has been operating since 2007 and has built a team of 50+ employees around technical expertise and quality delivery.

Quality here isn't simply a compliance exercise. It's about delivering installations correctly, reducing rework and giving clients confidence in the finished product.

The Role

As Mechanical Quality Manager, you'll become the quality lead across multiple live projects, working closely with project teams, engineers, subcontractors and clients.

You'll have genuine influence over how quality is delivered from installation through commissioning and handover.

Role Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures across mechanical projects.
  • Lead inspections, audits and quality surveillance.
  • Monitor installation quality and drive right-first-time delivery.
  • Manage NCRs, corrective actions and quality investigations.
  • Review documentation, testing and commissioning information.
  • Work with project teams and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Support ISO 9001 quality processes and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure projects are properly prepared for commissioning and handover.
  • Act as a key quality interface with clients and project stakeholders.

Role Requirements

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong mechanical building services experience.
  • Previous experience in a Quality Manager, QA/QC Manager, Quality Engineer or similar role.
  • Good understanding of QA/QC procedures within construction or MEP.
  • Experience with inspections, audits and NCR management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • The confidence to challenge poor standards and bring people with you.

A trade background combined with progression into quality management would also be considered.

Why Join?

This isn't a role where you'll spend your days filling in paperwork and looking for someone to blame.

You'll have the opportunity to influence projects, improve processes and work alongside experienced engineering and project teams where your judgement genuinely matters.

You'll also join a growing mechanical contractor with exposure to varied commercial, hospitality and residential projects.

Benefits & Salary

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Permanent position
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Varied project portfolio
  • Opportunity to influence quality strategy and standards
  • Supportive engineering and project environment

If you're ready to move beyond simply inspecting quality and want to take ownership of it, we'd like to hear from you.
