I am partnering with a leading international infrastructure group who are leading the transformation of our industry to meet the challenges of the future to secure a talented Senior Project Manager. The Role & Offer

  • Contract: 6 months, with the potential to be extended.

  • Rate: 70 per hour, umbrella inside IR35.

  • Location: East Sussex.

  • Hours: Full-time, primarily day shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate highways project works from initial planning through to completion.

  • Set operatives, gangs, and subcontractors to work safely, providing clear task briefings, reviewing RAMS, and implementing rigorous risk and permit controls.

  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials, traffic management, access, and utilities interfaces to achieve short-term delivery plans.

  • Lead quality checks, manage hold points and inspection records, and ensure all works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

  • Act as a guide and mentor to newer project managers on-site

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience supervising site teams or subcontractors in highways, civils, utilities, public realm, or similar infrastructure environments.

  • Strong practical knowledge of highways construction, including excavation, reinstatement, surfacing, kerbing, paving, drainage, and street furniture.

  • A strong portfolio of work experience is required, and being chartered in civil engineering or project management is highly desirable.

  • Experience working in a live public highway environment where customer impact and stakeholder confidence are paramount.

  • Essential Qualifications:

    • SSSTS or SMSTS

    • A valid CSCS card aligned to the supervisory role.

    • NRSWA Supervisor accreditation

    • EUSR Safe Digging / Avoiding Underground Services

    • First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid training.

    • Full UK driving licence
