A leading multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking for a Project Manager with NHS or NEC experience to join its established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to initially work on a major telecommunications account before gaining exposure to a much broader range of projects across the consultancy's 14 specialist sectors.

The Project Manager will manage projects from inception through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams. This Project Manager role would suit a capable Project Manager with either healthcare/NHS experience or strong knowledge of NEC contracts. The successful Project Manager will initially support a key national client account, with the opportunity to diversify their experience and work across different sectors as their career develops.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will initially work on a major telecommunications account, taking responsibility for projects through pre-contract and delivery stages.

The Project Manager will manage programmes, consultant teams, procurement, risk, change control, project reporting, stakeholder engagement, and contractor performance. They will chair meetings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, maintain project controls, and provide clear professional advice to clients.

As the Project Manager becomes established within the business, there will be opportunities to diversify across the consultancy's wider portfolio of 14 sectors, providing excellent long-term variety and career development.

The Project Manager

The successful Project Manager will have:

  • Prior project management experience within a construction consultancy
  • Previous NHS/healthcare project experience and/or strong NEC contract experience
  • Experience delivering projects through pre-contract and construction stages
  • A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
  • MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification
  • Good knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly for candidates without NHS experience
  • Strong programme, risk, and change management skills
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
  • The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach
