As part of their continued growth,They are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Services Manager to lead the technical services function on major projects across London.

The Role

The Senior Technical Services Manager will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise throughout the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases of projects. You will be responsible for ensuring all MEP systems are coordinated, integrated, and delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational performance.

Working closely with Project Directors, Design Managers, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Clients, you will play a pivotal role in delivering technically complex projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical services delivery on large-scale construction and fit-out projects.

Manage MEP design coordination from pre-construction through project completion.

Review and challenge consultant and subcontractor designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Drive value engineering opportunities while maintaining quality and performance standards.

Oversee the procurement, installation, commissioning, and testing of all building services systems.

Ensure programme milestones are achieved through effective planning and stakeholder management.

Manage technical risk and resolve complex engineering issues.

Chair technical workshops, design reviews, and commissioning meetings.

Ensure full compliance with building regulations, statutory requirements, and health and safety standards.

Support project teams in delivering successful client handovers and post-completion activities.

Mentor and develop Technical Services Managers and wider project teams.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.

Significant experience in a Senior Technical Services Manager, Technical Services Lead, Building Services Manager, or equivalent position.

Strong track record delivering complex commercial, fit-out, refurbishment, or construction projects.

Extensive knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning processes, and integrated building technologies.

Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance programme, cost, quality, and risk.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractor networks.

Desirable

Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.

Experience delivering projects within life sciences, data centres, technology, or high-end commercial sectors.

Knowledge of sustainability standards, low-carbon technologies, and net-zero initiatives.

Experience working within a Tier 1 contractor or major construction management organisation.
