This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, commercially minded construction professional looking to develop their career within a contractor environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Project Managers, supporting projects from tender stage through procurement and into delivery. Preparing quotation comparisons to assist Project Managers with cost assessment and supplier/subcontractor selection. Identifying potential cost savings and alternative materials or products where appropriate. Maintaining accurate records of tender returns, supplier quotations and project costs. Supporting procurement once projects are secured, including placing and tracking material orders. Monitoring material availability, pricing and lead times throughout the project lifecycle. Liaising with Project Managers, Site Managers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure materials and services are available when required. Assisting with project programmes, schedules and general project administration. Supporting the preparation and coordination of project documentation, including RAMS, specifications, material schedules and procurement records. Assisting Project Managers with tracking expenditure against project budgets and highlighting potential cost increases. Helping to record and price variations, additional works and revised quotations. Managing and prioritising multiple live projects and tenders simultaneously. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and the wider project team. About You We are looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware, proactive and keen to develop within the construction industry. You may currently be working in a builder's merchant, construction supplier, subcontractor or contractor environment and be looking to take the next step in your career. Relevant experience could include: Project or Contracts Administration Assistant Project Coordination Junior or Assistant Estimating Procurement or Materials Coordination Builder's Merchant Sales, Trade Counter or Estimating Construction Supply Office-based subcontractor experience Junior Contracts Coordination Previous experience within construction, building materials or a related industry is preferred. Exposure to tendering, estimating, procurement or project coordination would be advantageous, although extensive estimating experience is not essential. A practical understanding of construction materials and products would be particularly beneficial, alongside an ability to understand how materials, suppliers, pricing and lead times impact project delivery. You should also be: Commercially minded with good numerical ability. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. Confident communicating with suppliers, subcontractors, Site Managers and Project Managers. Comfortable picking up the phone, chasing quotations and negotiating competitive pricing. Confident using Microsoft Excel, Word and email. Able to manage multiple priorities and work across several projects simultaneously. Comfortable working with construction drawings, specifications and schedules, or willing to develop these skills. Proactive in identifying issues and following tasks through to completion. Keen to develop a broader understanding of estimating, procurement and project delivery. Experience with RAMS, material schedules, procurement records or other construction documentation would be beneficial but is not essential.
