Junior Pre-Construction Manager
Location: London
Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 + Benefits
A highly regarded design and build specialist, delivering premium workplace, commercial and corporate interior fit-out projects across London and the South East, is seeking an ambitious Junior Pre-Construction Manager to join its growing team.
Working on projects ranging from 500k to 20m+, this role offers the opportunity to be involved in the full pre-construction lifecycle, supporting the successful conversion of opportunities into live projects and gaining exposure to some of the UK's most prestigious workplace environments.
The Role
Reporting to senior members of the Pre-Construction team, you will assist in managing multiple tenders and negotiated opportunities from initial enquiry through to project handover.
You will work closely with estimating, commercial, design, planning and operational teams, helping to coordinate technical information, engage with subcontractors and contribute to successful bid submissions.
This position would suit an individual with some experience within the fit-out, construction, design and build or wider built environment sector who is looking to progress their career within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the management of pre-construction activities across multiple projects
- Assisting with tender submissions, presentations and bid documentation
- Coordinating project information and ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date
- Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Supporting programme development and project planning activities
- Assisting with value engineering and risk management exercises
- Helping to ensure seamless handover from pre-construction to delivery teams
- Attending project meetings and site visits where required
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within construction, interior fit-out, design and build, project management, quantity surveying or a related discipline
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Project Management or similar preferred
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Ambitious, proactive and eager to develop a long-term career in pre-construction
