Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide short-term cover on a live construction project in Oxford city centre.

The successful candidate will be required for 4 days from Friday 28th August, overseeing the day-to-day running of the site and ensuring the project continues to operate safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager who is immediately available and looking for a short-term freelance assignment with a reputable construction contractor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day activities on site
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site operatives
  • Ensuring all works are completed safely and to the required quality standards
  • Monitoring progress against programme and reporting any issues
  • Conducting regular site inspections
  • Ensuring site health & safety procedures are followed
  • Liaising with the Project Manager, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
  • Maintaining site records, inductions and relevant documentation
  • Managing site logistics and ensuring the site remains organised and compliant
  • Providing effective leadership and maintaining high standards throughout the project

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must hold:

  • Valid SMSTS
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Previous experience working as a Site Manager on live construction projects
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and site management procedures
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site
  • Immediate availability from Friday 28th August
