Impact Recruitment Services
Project Delivery Manager
Impact Recruitment Services Crick, Northamptonshire
Project Delivery Manager 65,000 + 450 per month car allowance 40 hours per week UK-wide projects We're looking for an experienced Project Delivery Manager to take ownership of the practical delivery of projects across the UK. This isn't a traditional Project Manager role where you'll spend your days behind a desk. We're looking for someone who enjoys being close to the action, understands what it takes to deliver work successfully on site and is confident taking ownership when things don't go to plan. You'll typically spend 2-3 days per week on the road visiting sites and 2-3 days in the office, working closely with the wider project team, customers, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to make sure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard. The projects combine both construction and technical engineering, including elements such as groundworks, installation and infrastructure alongside technical systems such as CCTV, access control, security systems and associated technology. We're particularly interested in people with a background in telecoms, electronic security, infrastructure, construction or another technical field-delivery environment, who understand both the practical and technical challenges involved in delivering projects. The Role Once projects move into execution, you'll take ownership of delivery in the field, making sure plans and designs are translated into successful real-world outcomes. You'll be the person who knows what's happening on site, what's needed to keep things moving and, when something inevitably goes wrong, the person who takes ownership and works out how to put it right. You'll be responsible for: Leading the practical delivery of multiple projects across the UK. Visiting project sites regularly to oversee progress, quality, safety and performance. Coordinating supervisors, engineers, operatives, contractors and specialist subcontractors. Working closely with customers and clients, providing clear updates and acting as a key point of contact throughout delivery. Coordinating construction activities including groundworks, installation and associated infrastructure. Overseeing the installation of technical systems such as CCTV, access control, security systems and associated equipment. Ensuring construction and technical elements of projects are properly coordinated and delivered in the correct sequence. Monitoring progress against programme, identifying potential delays and taking action before they become larger issues. Providing leadership, guidance and support to delivery teams and subcontractors. Managing issues and resolving problems as they arise on site. Acting as the escalation point when projects encounter technical, logistical, programme or resource issues. Monitoring productivity, resource utilisation and overall project performance. Working closely with the Project Operations Manager and wider project team to maintain programme, cost and quality. Maintaining accurate site records, quality documentation and compliance information. Carrying out site inspections and ensuring work meets the required quality standards. Identifying delivery risks and escalating concerns promptly. Maintaining a strong Health & Safety culture across all projects. Providing accurate updates on progress, risks, issues and forecast completion dates. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who understands how projects actually get delivered, rather than simply how they look on a spreadsheet. You may currently be working as a Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, Site Manager, Project Manager, Installation Manager, Contracts Manager or in another senior field-delivery position. Your background could be in telecoms, security systems, construction, infrastructure, engineering or a similar project-based environment. Ideally, you'll have: Experience managing or leading the delivery of engineering, construction, installation or infrastructure projects. Experience working with contractors, subcontractors and site-based engineering teams. A good understanding of both construction activities and technical installations. Experience with systems such as CCTV, access control, security systems, telecoms infrastructure or similar would be highly advantageous. The ability to understand technical drawings, project scopes, programmes and installation requirements. A practical understanding of project timescales, sequencing, site requirements and the realities of delivering work in the field. Confidence dealing directly with customers, clients and other stakeholders. Strong leadership skills and the ability to set expectations and hold people accountable. The confidence to make decisions and take ownership when problems arise. Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused approach. Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how delays, rework, poor productivity and ineffective resource management affect project performance. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge or escalate issues when necessary. Impact Recruitment are acting as an agency on behalf of our client. If you're an experienced engineering or project delivery professional who enjoys being out in the field, working with people, solving problems and seeing projects through from plan to completion, we'd like to hear from you.
