Are you an experienced Plant Technician, Mobile Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter or Construction Plant Engineer looking for your next opportunity in Birmingham?

We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Technician to join a successful engineering business covering the Birmingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plant Technician / Plant Engineer to work on a wide range of construction and heavy plant machinery, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs both on customer sites and within the workshop.

This role is ideal for an experienced Mobile Plant Engineer who enjoys a varied workload, working independently and providing high-quality technical support to customers.

The Role - Mobile Plant Technician

As a Plant Technician / Mobile Plant Engineer / Heavy Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on construction plant and heavy machinery
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Attending customer sites to complete breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance
• Inspecting machinery and identifying potential issues before failure occurs
• Completing planned maintenance schedules and safety checks
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve technical faults
• Completing accurate service reports, job cards and repair documentation
• Maintaining excellent customer relationships through professional service
• Working safely and efficiently while representing the company on-site

Experience Required - Plant Technician

To be considered for this Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Technician role, you will need:

Essential:

• Previous experience as a Plant Technician, Mobile Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Fitter or Construction Plant Engineer
• Strong mechanical fault-finding experience
• Experience working on heavy machinery, construction plant or agricultural equipment
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems and diesel engines
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent
• Experience working on excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, loaders or similar equipment
• Manufacturer training experience
• Experience within a field service engineering environment
