Location: Ayrshire, Scotland (Opportunities for long term work on other sites in North West, North East, South West UK)

About Us:
Lakers is a leading mechanical contractor operating within the engineering construction industry. We specialise in the installation of highly regulated process piping systems, delivering high-quality solutions for blue chip clients across the Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, and Petrochemical sectors.

Role:
We are currently seeking Welders with proven experience in TIG welding of stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of producing high-quality welds that meet rigorous visual inspection and NDT standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
• Work effectively as part of a site-based installation team
• Adhere to safety and quality procedures at all times
• Complete tasks to a high standard within agreed timeframes
• Assist in the preparation, fitting, and fabrication of pipework as required

Qualifications & Experience:
• Level 3 Trade Apprenticeship in Welding or Pipefitting (or equivalent)
• Valid CCNSG, CSCS, or recognised equivalent safety passport
• Demonstrated experience with TIG welding in a site-based environment
• Familiarity with welding procedures and acceptance criteria for NDT and visual inspection
• Must have valid Right to Work in the UK

Special Requirements:
• Offer of employment is subject to passing a weld test to verify competence and quality standards.

Contract Type: PAYE Only

Rates & Allowances:
• NAECI categorised rates (2026):
o Basic: £23.25
o Rate A: £32.55
o Rate B: £41.84
• Weld proficiency bonus applicable
• IBA Payment: £2.37/hour

Working Hours
• 108+ hrs available over the 11 day period

Travel & Expenses:
• NAECI travel and accommodation allowances apply in line with current guidelines
