Job Description Company: Civil Engineering & Construction Role: Health & Safety Advisor Salary: up to 45,000 + car allowance, pension and comprehensive benefits Location: West Midlands Region (multiple sites) We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor with hands on experience driving change and helping complex organisations develop a mature safety culture.
You will be a trusted expert working with management teams to elevate awareness of safety compliance, help build a culture of pro-active hazard identification and embed HSE best-practices at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive positive HSE culture change through education, relationship & trust building
- Conduct a thorough gap-analysis across multiple sites, each at differing levels of safety maturity, to identify where mis-alignments and areas for improvement exist
- Ability to apply best-practice regulations, procedures and policies in the context of work "as done" rather than work "as imagined"
- Improve processes and procedures and standardise these across multiple sites
- Conduct accident investigations, with a deep understanding of how multiple factors contribute
- Education around hazard identification and near-miss reporting
- Be the subject-matter expert in technical HSE and regulations
Essential criteria:- NEBOSH Certificate, with at least 4 years' experience in safety
- Background in utilities, civil engineering, or a related industry
- Ability to work in a complex, multi-site environment
- Experience with RAMs, accident and incident investigations, implementation
