We're looking for an experienced commercial professional to join a high-performing team delivering significant infrastructure projects across the West of Scotland. This is more than just another Quantity Surveying role. You'll take ownership of the commercial delivery of complex civil engineering projects, helping to drive performance from procurement through to final account while supporting the successful delivery of nationally important infrastructure.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with approximately one day per week on site, making it suitable for candidates based anywhere across Central Scotland who can travel to site when required.

What you'll be doing

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the commercial management of major civil engineering works.
  • Managing project costs, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Procuring and administering subcontract packages.
  • Managing contractual risks, variations and change.
  • Supporting value engineering and commercial decision-making.
  • Working closely with project teams, clients and key stakeholders.
  • Mentoring and developing junior commercial professionals.
  • Ensuring commercial governance and reporting standards are maintained.
What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and commercial risk.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Chartered status (or working towards it) with RICS, CIOB or ICES is desirable.
  • A CSCS Professionally Qualified Person card.
