Approved Electrician
Location: Team Valley, Gateshead
Rate: 25.00 - 26.00 per hour (CIS)
Start Date: Monday 13th July 2026
Duration: 4 - 6 Weeks
Hours: 38 hours per week
Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced, time-served Approved Electrician to carry out installation works on an industrial new build unit located in Team Valley, Gateshead.
This is a professional, clean contract running for approximately 4 to 6 weeks, offering a guaranteed 38-hour week. We require a reliable sub-contractor with strong industrial experience who can hit the ground running and work cleanly from schematic drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Containment & Management: High-spec installation of heavy-duty metal cable tray, ladder racking, basket, and conduit systems.
Mains Distribution: Pulling, dressing, and terminating heavy-gauge armoured cables (SWA) into main distribution boards and three-phase panels.
Power & High-Bay Lighting: Installing industrial busbar systems, three-phase power outlets, and high-level factory/warehouse lighting layouts.
Compliance: Ensuring all containment and wiring works are executed safely and strictly adhere to current IET Wiring Regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
ECS Gold Card: Must hold a valid JIB / ECS Gold Card demonstrating Approved Electrician status.
IPAF Certification: Must hold a valid IPAF licence (Categories 3a & 3b essential for operating powered access machinery at height).
Industrial Experience: Proven history of working safely on heavy industrial installations or commercial new build developments.
Tax Status: Fully registered under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) with a valid UTR number.
Tools & PPE: Must have a comprehensive personal toolkit, professional cordless power tools, and full standard site PPE.
