Your new role
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial management of major civil engineering projects while overseeing and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully from both a financial and contractual perspective.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the commercial function across multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing a commercial team.
  • Overseeing project budgets, forecasts, valuations and cost reporting.
  • Preparing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts and commercial agreements.
  • Managing variations, claims, compensation events and final accounts.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout project lifecycles.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Providing strategic commercial guidance to senior management.


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • Significant experience within the civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities sector.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor position.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Full UK driving licence.
