Your new role
Working on the largest highways project in the region involving roundabout improvements and a new 10 mile dual carriageway, we are looking for a Civils Foreman to join the project team.
As Highways Foreman you will play a key role in supervising site operations, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards across the scheme.
This role includes oversight of specialist activities such as pipejacking operations and drainage systems, including sedimentation (settlement) tanks, requiring strong technical understanding and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate site teams and subcontractors on highways works.
- Oversee delivery of pipejacking operations, ensuring alignment, safety, and programme adherence
- Manage installation of drainage systems, including sedimentation tanks and associated infrastructure
- Ensure all activities are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Plan and manage daily works in line with programme requirements.
- Allocate labour, plant, and materials effectively
- Monitor progress and report on performance, risks, and issues
- Ensure compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and permits
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure specifications are met
- Liaise with engineers and management to resolve technical or operational challenges
- Support and mentor operatives, promoting a positive site culture
What you'll need to succeed - Previous experience as a Foreman or Supervisor on highways projects
- Strong knowledge of highways construction methods (earthworks, drainage, structures, surfacing)
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
- CSCS card (Supervisor level or above)
- Highways Passport
