Mechanical Estimator

Our client is an established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor with an annual turnover exceeding 30 million and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment schemes across Central London. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured and upcoming work, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Estimator to strengthen their pre-construction team.

Working closely with the Pre-Construction Director and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate tenders for commercial fit-out projects ranging from 5m to 15m M&E value.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing tender documentation and specifications.
• Preparing detailed mechanical cost estimates and take-offs.
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Producing tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Attending client meetings, site visits and tender interviews.
• Managing multiple tenders simultaneously within agreed deadlines.
• Working collaboratively with design, commercial and operations teams throughout the bid process.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Mechanical Estimator position.
• Proven track record successfully tendering mechanical packages valued at 5m+.
• Strong commercial fit-out and refurbishment project experience.
• Good understanding of HVAC, public health and mechanical building services installations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.

Candidates should have experience using estimating and take-off software such as:

• Trimble Estimation / Estimation MEP
• ConQuest Estimating
• Bluebeam Revu
• CostX
• Excel (advanced level)

Experience with BIM and digital pre-construction processes would be advantageous.

• Basic salary of 70,000 - 90,000 depending on experience.
