This business is particularly recognised for its expertise in heritage, conservation, and high-spec residential schemes, alongside commercial and public sector work.
This is a genuine opportunity for an Estimator who wants to take ownership of tenders on technically detailed projects, typically ranging from £1m to £20m, while working closely with experienced, hands-on directors.
The Role What You ll Be Doing - As an Estimator, you ll play a key role in the pre-construction team, leading tenders from enquiry through to submission.
- Lead Tenders Prepare detailed and competitive submissions across refurbishment, heritage, and new build projects.
- Commercial Ownership Analyse subcontractor returns, build up rates, and manage full pricing documents.
- Technical Review Assess drawings and specifications, identifying risks and opportunities for value engineering.
- Stakeholder Liaison Engage with clients, consultants, and supply chain throughout the tender process.
- Reporting Produce clear tender reports and cost plans for internal review.
- Process Improvement Support development of estimating systems and cost databases.
- You will also have the chance to support and mentor junior team members as the department grows.

What You Need - Experience as an Estimator within a main contractor or specialist refurbishment contractor.
- Strong knowledge of pricing, procurement, and subcontractor engagement.
- Experience working on refurbishment, heritage, or complex building projects is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
- Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) beneficial but not essential.
