Key Responsibilities Estimating & Tender Management Preparation and submission of detailed and accurate project estimates Assessment, coordination and management of tender bid activities Preparation, adjudication and submission of competitive tenders Conducting take-offs and analysing project documentation Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations Reviewing specifications, drawings and contract requirements Preparing pricing schedules and tender documentation Following up submitted tenders and supporting negotiations where required Commercial & Pre-Construction Managing pre-contract and bid activities from enquiry through to submission Identifying project risks and opportunities during the tender process Supporting project handovers to the operational team upon contract award Maintaining and developing relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers Assisting with business development opportunities and repeat client work Communication & Coordination Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams throughout the estimating process Clearly communicating work requirements and project scopes to subcontractors Attending tender review meetings and pre-contract discussions Providing accurate reporting and updates to senior management Maintaining organised estimating records and documentation Requirements Minimum 10 years' estimating experience within the construction industry Proven track record working for a Main Contractor Strong experience within building restoration, external refurbishment or fa ade-related projects Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials and pricing Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Excellent communication and negotiation skills Full UK Driving Licence Desirable: Knowledge of heritage, restoration or specialist external refurbishment works Relevant construction or commercial qualifications Established network of subcontractor and supplier contacts The Opportunity This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and long-established contractor with over 24 years of successful project delivery across London and the South East.

Fulfil the role of Senior Estimator on projects, managing all estimating elements with interface with suppliers, clients and across our commercial, operations, and project functions. Understand the corporate and contract specific estimating procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these. Responsible for the preparation of estimates from conception through to detailed estimates for identified projects within the company. Assist in the training of estimating staff and trainees/graduates working in or seconded to the department for a period of time. Ability to understand complex engineering drawings and designs and to translate these into build needs, sequence, and timings. Assessment and recording of the likely competition when tendering. Liaise with the procurement in dealing with suppliers and subcontractors at tender stage to obtain the most competitive prices ensuring firm quotes are received for significant materials and subcontract items to support the best net estimate. Requesting further information from Client/Design Team and arrange meeting if required. Attend handover meeting and brief team on tender bid. Run multiple projects at any one time at different stages, cost plan, design feasibility, competitive tender. Producing estimates and cost plans from concept plans and specification Excellent construction technology knowledge Work on Conquest Estimating System including On Screen Take Off Database management Design /Cost Control Subcontract analysis and comparisons.
