Duties Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties Diagnose faults and complete repairs across a range of trades, ensuring a first-time fix wherever possible Complete carpentry repairs including skirting, architraves, doors, frames, locks, and ironmongery Undertake minor plumbing repairs such as leaks, tap replacements, and unblocking sinks Carry out patch plastering and make good following repair works Complete basic tiling repairs including regrouting and resealing Carry out painting and decorating to reinstate areas after maintenance works Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards and SLAs Work in occupied properties, maintaining a high level of customer care and respect for residents' homes Participate in out-of-hours emergency repairs rota where required Identify and report follow-on works or additional maintenance issues Deliver excellent customer service and communicate clearly with residents about works being carried out Accurately record job details, materials used, and outcomes using handheld devices Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle to a good standard Manage workload effectively to meet daily targets and appointments Key Criteria: Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating) Full UK driving licence Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota Benefits we can offer you. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Annual Mears Fun Day - Our annual Fun Day is organised as a massive thank you from the Executive team for all the hard work!
