Design Assistant (Junior) Renewable Energy
Location: East / South Midlands or Northern Home Counties
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum + package

The Opportunity
We are working with a specialist contractor operating within the renewable energy sector, delivering innovative heating and cooling solutions across the UK.
The business specialises in the design and installation of heat pump systems, including:
Ground Source Heat Pumps
Water Source Heat Pumps
Air Source Heat Pumps


Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Junior Design Assistant to support their technical design team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience within a fast-growing, future-focused industry.

The Role
Working alongside experienced engineers and designers, you will support the development of technical designs and project documentation for renewable energy systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with the preparation of design drawings and layouts
Supporting the design of heat pump and mechanical systems
Producing technical documentation and project information
Liaising with engineers, project managers, and installation teams
Supporting project coordination from design through to delivery
Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and specifications
Updating drawings and documentation as projects progress

About You
A genuine interest in renewable energy and sustainability
Some exposure to design, engineering, or construction environments (placement, internship, or junior role)
Basic understanding of CAD software (AutoCAD or similar desirable)
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Good communication and organisational skills
Proactive and able to work as part of a team
