A well established architecture and property consultancy is seeking an experienced Design Team Manager to lead and strengthen its growing design division based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior design professional to take on a pivotal leadership role within a busy consultancy, overseeing the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of architectural and rural development schemes throughout the UK. Responsibilities
Manage, lead and support the design team on a day to day basis
Coordinate workloads and allocate resources effectively across projects
Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
Provide mentoring, guidance and ongoing support to team members
Collaborate closely with planning and property professionals across the business
Maintain strong technical and design quality throughout all stages of delivery
Assist with recruitment, onboarding and staff development activities
Identify and implement improvements to workflows and project processes
Act as a senior contact for clients, consultants and internal stakeholders
Promote a positive and productive team environment
Experience Required
Degree qualified in Architectural Technology or qualified ARB Architect
Previous experience leading or managing an architectural or design team
Strong background within architecture, planning or consultancy sectors
Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple live projects
Confident liaising with clients and key stakeholders
Experience working on rural, residential, agricultural or commercial developments is desirable
Good understanding of planning processes, design coordination and project delivery
Commercially minded with strong organisational and problem solving abilities
