They will bring practical construction knowledge, buildability and lifting expertise into the bid process. About Wright Engineering Wright Engineering designs, manufactures and installs complex bulk materials handling and industrial engineering systems. Our projects increasingly bring together mechanical handling, structural steelwork, civils, electrical and control systems, specialist subcontractors and demanding live-site installation requirements. As the scale and complexity of our opportunities grows, the quality of our bid development, engineering solution, construction planning and commercial risk control becomes ever more important. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support the delivery of industry-leading health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout the business. Working closely with the SHEQ Manager and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, improving processes and promoting best practice across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects. This is a predominantly field-based position, with regular site visits (typically 3-4 days per week), 1 day working from home. Key Responsibilities Support the ongoing management and continual improvement of the company's SHEQ management systems. Review project health, safety and environmental documentation as part of the project approval process. Conduct specialist assessments where suitably qualified and competent, including: Fire Risk Assessments COSHH Assessments Environmental Assessments Lifting Operations Assessments Undertake desktop and compliance audits to ensure project teams maintain required standards and documentation. Carry out site inspections and audits, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Assist in accident, incident and near-miss investigations. Provide SHEQ advice and guidance to project managers, supervisors and site teams. Contribute to the development, review and enhancement of company policies, processes, procedures and documentation. Support the enforcement of legislative, regulatory and client-specific requirements. Promote a proactive safety culture and environmental awareness across all business activities. Candidate Requirements Previous experience in a SHEQ Advisor, HSE Advisor or Health & Safety Advisor role. Experience within renewables, utilities, construction, infrastructure, civil engineering or a related sector. Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation. Experience carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification. Expectation to stay away 1/2 nights a week Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
