Freelance Agent / Sub-Agent - North Coast of Scotland We are currently looking for an experienced Agent or Sub-Agent to join a major civil engineering project based in North Coast of Scotland for an immediate start. This is initially a minimum 3-month contract, with the potential for a longer-term opportunity for candidates who would be willing to transfer and work on projects in Orkney thereafter. The Role You will be supporting the delivery of key civil engineering works, initially overseeing: Duct installation works Small concrete structure packages Coordination and supervision of site activities Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme Liaising with the existing Site Agent and wider project team You will be working alongside an experienced Agent who is beginning work on another project, making this an excellent opportunity to take ownership of work fronts and make an immediate impact. Requirements Previous experience as an Agent or Sub-Agent within civil engineering projects Strong understanding of earthworks, utilities, ducting, and concrete works Ability to manage subcontractors and supervise site operations Good communication and organisational skills Valid CSCS card (essential) SMSTS/SSSTS preferred What s On Offer? Our client delivers civil engineering and utility infrastructure projects across the water, wastewater, highways, structures, energy and industrial sectors and continues to secure long-term framework work throughout the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong order book and a growing presence within the water sector. The Project Water mains renewal programme. Reading area. Thames Water client. Delivered as a subcontractor to M Group. Long-term programme running until approximately June 2027. Reporting into a visiting Project Manager. Strong opportunity for ongoing work beyond the current programme. The Role This is a hands-on Site Agent position responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities and operational delivery across live water infrastructure works. You will be responsible for: Managing site operations across water mains renewal projects. Health & Safety compliance and site leadership. Quality management, inspections and compliance processes. Resource planning and programme management. Coordinating direct labour, subcontractors and supply chain partners. Liaising with M Group site teams and relevant project stakeholders.
