Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setting Out Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role focuses primarily on internal setting out and high-precision laser work using Leica equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, quality assurance, and smooth project delivery across a range of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out internal setting out works to a high level of accuracy
• Operate and maintain Leica surveying and laser equipment
• Conduct detailed QA checks and ensure compliance with project specifications and tolerances
• Interpret drawings, models, and specifications to guide site works
• Mark out and spray lines/points clearly and accurately as required
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and management to ensure alignment on project requirements
• Maintain clear and accurate records of setting out data and QA documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, ideally with a focus on internals
• Strong proficiency with Leica equipment and laser-based setting out methods
• Solid understanding of QA processes and documentation in construction
• Experience with spraying/marking out on site
• Background in construction or building projects preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Experience working on large-scale or complex build projects
• Familiarity with digital setting out tools and software
• Relevant qualifications in surveying, engineering, or construction
