Senior Planner Construction (Main Contractor)

The Role

As Senior Planner, you will take a leading role in managing the planning process across both pre-construction and live projects. You will be responsible for developing robust, cost-effective programmes and ensuring they are successfully delivered on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed construction programmes for internal and external use
  • Develop critical path analysis and resource-loaded schedules
  • Support project teams with programme development and monitoring
  • Prepare tender programmes and supporting documentation
  • Produce regular progress reports for project and regional meetings
  • Liaise with commercial, design, and delivery teams to ensure programme alignment
  • Review subcontractor programmes for accuracy and achievability
  • Develop procurement and information release schedules
  • Identify programme risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Provide planning expertise during pre-construction stages
  • Support and coach site teams in planning best practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning systems
About You
  • Demonstrable experience in a planning role within a main contractor environment
  • Proficient in planning software (Asta Powerproject preferred)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capability
  • Full UK driving licence
