Mechanical Contracts Manager - Building Services Location: Manchester
Salary: £65,000 package

Are you an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager looking for your next opportunity? We're working with a well-established building services contractor that delivers mechanical projects across the retail and commercial sectors - from small maintenance works to major mechanical packages valued up to £1M. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to bring an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager into their team.
The Role

  • Managing HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical plant installations
  • Overseeing projects valued up £1m mechanical packages
  • Leading new build developments, refurbishments, and planned/reactive works
  • Preparing programmes, RAMS, method statements, and other project documentation
  • Working collaboratively with electrical teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders
  • Monitoring project progress and implementing corrective actions where required

Key Responsibilities
  • Full cradle-to-completion management of mechanical packages
  • Coordination across multi-discipline project teams
  • Attendance at site progress meetings
  • Managing budgets, costs, variations, and commercial reporting
  • Reviewing subcontractor quotations and appointing specialist partners
  • Acting as the main point of contact for key retail clients
  • Reviewing RAMS and permits to work
What We're Looking For
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
  • Proven experience managing mechanical projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • SMSTS / Manager-level CSCS - Desirable
