Electrican (Multi-Skilled Electrician)

Location: BS16 & various sites across Bristol
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (shift pattern: 07 30 & 09 00)
Call-Out: Approx. 1 in 8 rota

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrican (Multi-Skilled Electrician) to join our team, delivering high-quality electrical maintenance services across multiple Bristol locations.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, completing planned maintenance, and delivering installations to a high professional standard.

You ll be joining a supportive, hands-on environment where your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will make a real impact.

What You ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
  • Responding to reactive and remedial repair works following inspections and testing
  • Installing, testing, and maintaining a wide range of electrical systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex electrical faults efficiently
  • Sourcing parts and liaising with manufacturers when required
  • Producing clear, accurate job reports and documentation
  • Maintaining up-to-date records including risk assessments and maintenance logs
  • Using PDA/electronic systems to manage and update job progress
  • Working closely with the control hub to ensure smooth job coordination
  • Delivering high standards of work independently and as part of a team
  • Complying fully with health and safety procedures at all times
  • Participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota

What We re Looking For

Essential:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 (2357) or equivalent / recognised apprenticeship
  • AM2 qualification
  • 18th Edition (City & Guilds 2382)
  • ECS Gold Card
  • Minimum 3 years experience in building maintenance
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • IOSH Working Safely or CSCS Card
  • L8 Awareness

Working Pattern & Benefits

Location: Primarily BS16 with travel across Bristol sites
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday Friday

Overtime Rates

  • Time and a half: Weekdays after 17:00 & Saturdays before 13:00
  • Double time: All other qualifying hours

Call-Out Package

  • £15 per day standby allowance
  • Overtime rates paid for all attended call-outs

Additional Benefits

  • Private mileage charged at £0.30 per mile
  • Travel time: 30 minutes each way unpaid
