Job Description

Project Quantity Surveyor Heathrow Airport

Location: Heathrow Airport, London
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £85,000 £95,000 + bonus + benefits

About the Opportunity

This is a standout opportunity to join a rapidly expanding specialist contractor delivering some of the most complex and high-profile civils packages at Heathrow Airport.

Over the last 12 months, the contractor s Heathrow workload has scaled dramatically from £3m to £20m, with a clear pipeline in place to grow this to circa £50m this year alone through secured and anticipated additional packages. This is not a static portfolio - it is a live, fast-growing programme of works driven by repeat success and strong client relationships.

As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be stepping into a business where growth is already happening, and your role will directly influence how effectively that expansion is delivered commercially.

This is a chance to join a contractor at a pivotal stage: established enough to be trusted with major airport infrastructure works, but still in a phase of aggressive and structured growth, where high performers gain significant responsibility quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full commercial ownership of heavy civils packages, including works on Terminal upgrades
  • Manage NEC contracts, working closely with the main civils contractor and project stakeholders
  • Lead on cost reporting, valuations, forecasting, budgets, and commercial strategy
  • Support and contribute to major tendering activity, including an upcoming large-scale demolition scheme in Terminal 1
  • Drive cost control, risk management, and margin protection across live projects
  • Collaborate closely with delivery teams to track performance and ensure financial accuracy across all packages

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor on major civils, infrastructure, or airport projects
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and ideally self-delivery projects
  • Demonstrable experience managing multi-million-pound project portfolios
  • Confident taking full commercial ownership of projects end-to-end
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, able to engage directly with contractors and senior stakeholders

Why Join This Contractor?

  • Be part of a high-growth contractor scaling its Heathrow portfolio at pace
  • Work on a programme expanding from £20m to a projected £50m+ pipeline within a year
  • Genuine opportunity to take full commercial ownership of infrastructure packages
  • Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and high-value decision-making
  • Broad project exposure across civils, upgrades, and demolition schemes within a live airport environment
  • Join a team where responsibility, progression, and impact increase with performance and growth of the business
