Are you a hands-on Health & Safety Manager who can build relationships on site and drive real change?
We re working with a growing utilities contractor delivering drainage and water infrastructure projects across the East of England. With a strong pipeline of secured work, they are expanding into wider water utilities services, now looking to bring in a Health & Safety Manager to lead Safety across the business.


This is a key hire, reporting into the Operations Director, with the autonomy to shape standards, influence senior stakeholders, and improve site performance. This is a hybrid role, on site for 2 days a week, in the office 2 days and at home 1 day a week

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and manage Health & Safety across multiple live sites
  • Maintain and improve ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 systems
  • Ensure compliance with UK legislation including HSAW and CDM
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and support external accreditations
  • Review RAMS and implement safe systems of work
  • Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks, and inductions
  • Build strong relationships with site teams and clients
  • Support tenders with Health and Safety input

What we re looking for:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher)
  • Experience in utilities, civil engineering or related infrastructure sectors
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and ISO standards
  • Confident influencing site teams and senior stakeholders
  • Proactive approach - someone who gets out on site and engages
