About the Role
We are recruiting experienced Crane Drivers to work on major shaft sinking and tunnelling projects across the North West UK. This is a long-term opportunity offering stable work for up to five years on a high-profile infrastructure scheme.
Key Responsibilities
Operate cranes safely and efficiently in shaft sinking and tunnelling environments
Carry out lifting operations in line with approved lift plans and method statements
Communicate effectively with Slinger/Signallers using radio and hand signals
Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on crane equipment
Ensure all lifting activities are conducted in accordance with site safety procedures
Work in challenging environments, including confined and underground conditions where required
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Essential Requirements
Valid Crane Operator certification (CPCS / NPORS or equivalent)
Proven experience working on shaft sinking and tunnelling projects
Confined Spaces certification (Medium/High Risk) - essential
Valid medical certificate (safety-critical) - essential
Strong understanding of lifting operations and crane safety
Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends if required
Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team
Desirable
Experience operating cranes in confined or restricted environments
CSCS card
First Aid certification
Experience on major civil engineering or underground infrastructure projects
