Estimator - Construction / Glazing

Harlow
100% office based with occasional London/site travel
£50,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)

A growing and well-established specialist contractor is seeking an Estimator to join their commercial team.

Working across a varied portfolio of commercial projects, this is a key role focused on delivering accurate, competitive tenders and supporting the ongoing growth of the business.

The Estimator will:

Be responsible for preparing detailed quotations for a wide range of subcontract packages, supporting projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission and handover.
Projects typically include:
  • Aluminium and steel windows, doors, and curtain walling
  • Rooflights and structural glazing
  • Internal glazing, partitions, and balustrades
  • Specialist glass installations including cladding and mirrors

The Estimator's duties are:
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotations from drawings and specifications
  • Interpret architectural drawings, tender documents, and NBS specifications
  • Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to clarify requirements
  • Assess project timescales and resource requirements within tenders
  • Maintain clear records of estimates and supporting documentation
  • Support smooth handover from tender stage to project delivery
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost-effective solutions

The Estimator will have:
  • Experience in estimating within glazing, fenestration, or a related construction sector
  • Strong technical understanding of glazing systems and packages
  • Confident interpreting drawings and specification documents
  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Strong Excel and general IT skills
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative approach
  • Knowledge of installation sequencing and programme considerations
  • Experience with estimating or CRM systems
  • Full UK driving licence

The salary for the Estimator is:

£50,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)
