Job Title: Steel Fixer - National Grid Substation Project
Location: National Grid 400kV Substation, Staythorpe Road, Newark (NG23 5RG)
Sector: Power / Substations (National Grid)
Job Type: Contract
Start Date: Monday (ASAP)
Duration: Approx. 6 Weeks
Hours: 50 hours per week (Early finish on Fridays)

The Role:
We are currently recruiting experienced Steel Fixers to work on a National Grid 400kV substation project in Newark.
This is a great opportunity to get onto a live substation site, supporting in-situ foundation works within a substation building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Steel fixing for in-situ concrete foundations
  • Working with pre-cut and bent reinforcement bar
  • Ensuring all works are carried out to specification and drawings
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety within a live substation environment
  • Working closely with site teams to meet programme deadlines

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Steel Fixer on infrastructure or substation projects
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Experience working in live or controlled environments (highly beneficial)
  • Strong understanding of site safety and procedures

Tickets:

  • National Grid Person
  • Any tickets relevant to steel works and fixing

Rates & Package:

  • 275/day
  • 50 hours per week
  • Early finish every Friday
  • Overtime available
  • Approx. 6 weeks' work
