Utilities Surveyor (PAS 128) This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a strong technical background and demonstrable experience as a Utilities Surveyor and experience working under PAS128 standards. R&D for on-going projects to ensure best practice within the industry. Finance and Contract Management: To assist the facilities manager to ensure all contractual obligations are carried out fully, successfully and with the minimum disruption. To ensure all repairs and maintenance are carried out within budget and any foreseen expenditure is highlighted with capable parameters. Technical and Interpersonal Skills Needed For This Role: The job demands knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, and a knowledge of all aspects of current Health and Safety legislation, Control of Legionnaires Disease, Electricity at Work Act. The ability to make decisions on behalf of the company on all preventative and remedial maintenance, with commensurate skills in technical evaluation. Our client, a large, successful and ever growing developer are seeking an Engineer with new build housing experience to join their team in the Nottinghamshire based office. The Engineer is responsible for the procurement of all civil engineering design information necessary to deliver the construction of all infrastructure, roads, sewers, foundations, external works and structural aspects on residential developments throughout the region, whilst providing an important link between the design and construction process. Main Duties and Responsibilities • The selection, briefing and appointment of Consultants capable of delivering accurate and concise design information in a timely manner and covering, but not limited to, S278 and highway entrance works, road and sewer construction, multi utility service supply, foundation construction, plot and external works areas and retaining structures. • In conjunction with the appointed consultant, liaise with Local and Regulatory bodies to secure Technical Approval of highway, road and sewer designs at the very earliest available opportunity. • Liaison with Solicitors to ensure the timely completion of S278, S38 and S104 agreements as well as any required easements, deeds or land transfers connected with substation or gas governor supply. • Subsequent supervision and monitoring of the Company’s infrastructure, foundations and external works construction. • Ensure contractor compliance with working/approved drawings. • Technical support, inclusive of appropriate advice to the site construction team. • Multi Utility services tendering, vetting and co-ordination. • Liaison with Statutory Bodies, Authorities and Service Utility providers. • Monitoring of demolition/site clearance works. • Provide appropriate input to the Company’s monthly valuations and look to strictly enforce cost control through good design and work practices. • Exercise due diligence and ensure the Company’s commitment to the highest possible standards of health and safety are maintained at all times. Our client is looking for a Senior Contract Manager to join their offshore windfarm project in Taiwan. Ideal candidate would have a QS background and significant offshore wind experience. Relocation to Taiwan is required. Role Reporting to the Contract Director, you would be working alongside the Deputy EPC Director and be primarily responsible for the contract management in relation to the foundation supply, transport and installation. Your primary goal would be to protect the best interests of the project and ensure successful delivery of the scope in your responsibility and support the wider contract management team in delivering a successful project. Specific responsibility: responsible for foundation package: fabrication and installation (T&I) contract management and requirements; To consult daily with team members, the EPC Director, and the Contract Director about the contractual and commercial position of the project; Discuss strategy with the Package Manager, Contract Director, EPC Director and CEO, if required; Assess consequences of (technical) decisions by team members and define actions; Pro-actively avoid unexpected claims; Take active part in the resolution of all commercial and contractual issues/disputes for all contracts. Advice the package manager, Contract Director, EPC Director and CEO, if required, to write and send letters. Draft all outgoing letters in relation to signed foundation related subcontracts. Maintaining an adequate administration of all contract notifications (by the contractor representative and the employer (Engineer)), variations and claims.
