Children's Book Bus Driver - Leicester

Children's Book Bus Driver required to work with a local Leicester based authority.

I am looking for a professional driver to drive a bookbus with a second person (library assistant or manager) to various locations in and around the Leicester area and assist with the day to day operation of community library services.

Drive the Children's Book Bus to various locations around Leicester City, including regular street stops, visits to schools and early years settings, and appearances at festivals and events.

You will also be responsible for maintaining vehicle security and standards as well as undertaking vehicle checks:

• Make sure that before driving a vehicle, it is in a fit and serviceable condition by carrying out daily and weekly routine checks as directed. Conduct weekly safety checks, including fire precautions as instructed or inform the Development Librarian if immediate action is required.
• Maintain any vehicle in a clean hygienic & tidy condition both inside & out.
• Clean the inside of the bus e.g., by hoovering, wiping down surfaces, walls etc.
• Clean the outside of the bus with jet wash if required and on any occasions where the large vehicle wash is out of action.
• Ensure the vehicle is carrying the correct equipment.
• Drive vehicles to & from maintenance depots for servicing & repair.
• Return the vehicle daily to the appointed place

This is a temporary position working 13:00pm - 20:00pm Monday to Thursday (possibility for additional hours at weekends)

Pay rate: 16.78 P/H umbrella.

Requirements:

• CPC qualification - licence for 7.5 tonne vehicle.
• Full UK Driving Licence
