1st Step Solutions are supporting a building services engineering company who have an opportunity for an Electrical Supervisor based in East London.
Our client delivers Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing solutions across commercial, industrial and residential sectors.
Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day electrical installation activities on site
Manage and coordinate electrical operatives and subcontractors
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and current regulations (e.g. BS 7671)
Monitor progress against programme and report to Project Manager
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and compliance
Enforce health & safety procedures and carry out toolbox talks
Liaise with other trades to ensure smooth coordination on site
Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Assist with procurement and material management
Maintain site records including progress reports, inspections, and test results
Support commissioning and handover processes
Requirements
Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on residential projects
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices
Familiarity with UK electrical standards and regulations (BS 7671)
SSSTS or SMSTS certification
ECS/CSCS card (Gold or Black preferred)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
Desirable
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experience working on multi-unit residential developments
First Aid at Work certification
