JR295: Contracts Supervisor

Location: South London

Salary: Up to £46,719 per annum

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Contracts Supervisor to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, organise, coordinate and supervise planned works and repairs within prescribed timescales, budgets and contract KPIs.
  • Ensure accurate estimates are provided, variations are managed, and additional costs are recovered in support of the Field Operations Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with client and contract-specific processes and escalation protocols.
  • Demonstrate initiative in operational, logistical and commercial decision-making while seeking approval where appropriate.
  • Deputise for the Field Operations Manager during periods of absence to maintain service delivery continuity.
  • Represent the company at site meetings, surveys, pre-start meetings, progress meetings, post-inspections and complaint investigations.
  • Visit properties and sites to inspect works, materials, plant requirements and specifications, ensuring appointments and schedules are met.
  • Identify and report defects during inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure effective utilisation of labour, materials, equipment and transport resources.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with quality management system requirements.
  • Maintain and improve Health & Safety standards and ensure statutory compliance.
  • Use company IT systems and software platforms to monitor daily operations and performance.
  • Ensure timesheets, job tickets and documentation are completed within required timescales.
  • Promote Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Safeguarding policies.
  • Monitor attendance and sickness levels and report appropriately.
  • Assist with recruitment and take line management responsibility for staff under supervision.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings and ensure risk assessments and PPE requirements are followed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds qualification or time-served tradesperson with a minimum of 5 years site experience within property maintenance or construction.
  • CITB CSCS Health & Safety Supervisor card.
  • Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training.
  • IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent) desirable.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage change and develop team members effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities and industry regulations.
