Role Summary
The M&E Supervisor will provide effective site supervision of mechanical and electrical installation works on water and wastewater capital delivery projects. The role will support the safe, timely, and high quality delivery of MEICA works across the project lifecycle, working closely with project engineers, site management, subcontractors, and the client.
The position requires strong coordination of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure installations meet specification, programme requirements, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical and electrical installation works on site. Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety legislation, and project quality plans. Promote a strong safety culture across site teams and subcontractors.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure equipment and plant are installed correctly and ready for testing and commissioning.
- Monitor the quality of installation works to ensure compliance with Approved for Construction drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Support the inspection, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment. Assist with witness testing and quality hold points where required.
- Maintain and manage snag lists for mechanical and electrical installations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.
- Liaise with client representatives, project engineers, and site management to coordinate site activities and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor progress against programme and report delays, risks, or issues to the Site Manager or Construction Manager.
- Review and mark up site drawings and assist with the production of as built documentation.
- Ensure subcontractors maintain safe working practices and leave work areas clean and tidy following completion of works.
- Support commissioning activities and ensure installations are complete and ready for operational handover.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supervising mechanical and electrical installation works within infrastructure or the water sector.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment used in water or wastewater treatment environments.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and suppliers on construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
Qualifications
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
- CSCS card.
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Construction.
- First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid.
