HSE Advisor Midlands & West of England
Location: Midlands (Stafford hub, home working & site-based)
Reporting to: HSEQ Manager

AMB Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for an experienced HSE Advisor to join a growing organisation operating across the Midlands and West of England. This is a varied role involving regular travel to sites, time at a Stafford-based hub, and flexible home working. The position would ideally suit candidates based in Nottinghamshire or Staffordshire.

The Role
As HSE Advisor, you ll play a vital role in promoting a positive health and safety culture across multiple sites. Working closely with the HSEQ Manager, you ll ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental legislation while supporting the delivery of best-in-class HSEQ standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement effective control measures

  • Develop, review, and enforce safe systems of work

  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits

  • Deliver in-house health and safety training

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and improvement plans

  • Manage incident reporting and lead investigations

  • Stay up to date with relevant HSE legislation and best practice

  • Provide specialist advice on areas such as fire safety and hazardous substances

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical knowledge of health and safety standards

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to analyse complex information and present it clearly

  • Strong IT skills with high attention to detail

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

  • IOSH qualification or equivalent

Desirable

  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 27001:2013

  • Background in construction or industrial environments

  • Understanding of environmental and sustainability practices
