Job Description

A growing multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to support the continued development of their Building Safety and Fire service.

This opportunity would suit a motivated Fire Engineer at Senior, Principal or Associate level who is looking to contribute to a developing service within a well-established consultancy environment.

The successful Fire Engineer will work alongside an experienced service lead, supporting clients across the full lifecycle of property assets including acquisition, design, construction, refurbishment and occupation.

The Fire Engineer will provide specialist advice on fire safety and regulatory compliance while supporting clients with complex building safety challenges in line with evolving UK legislation.

The Fire Engineer's Role

  • Producing fire safety strategies and technical reports for a range of building types
    Supporting Planning Gateway One submissions and fire statements
    Delivering construction stage fire risk assessments and compliance reviews
    Completing lender due diligence related to fire safety and building risk
    Preparing Fire and Emergency Files and building Safety Case documentation
    Undertaking compartmentation, fire stopping and fire door surveys
    Completing EWS1 assessments and Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEW)
    Monitoring projects to ensure compliance with building safety legislation and guidance
    Supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
    Assisting with client engagement and proposal preparation

The Fire Engineer

  • Degree qualified in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or a related discipline
    Experience delivering fire engineering or fire safety consultancy services
    Strong knowledge of UK fire legislation and building safety guidance
    Experience with fire strategies, fire risk assessments, or fa ade fire assessments
    Chartered Engineer status desirable (support available for chartership)
    Experience working within a consultancy or multidisciplinary environment
    Strong communication, client-facing and report writing skills
